Enterprise automation

Make business operations work together.

We design integrated business systems and automated workflows that replace manual hand-offs, connect the tools you already use and give you reporting you can trust.

The problem

Disconnected tools and manual workflows create friction.

As organisations grow, processes spread across spreadsheets, e-mail threads and systems that do not share data. Every gap is filled by someone copying, chasing or checking.

  1. Approvals wait in inboxes

Route requests to the right approver automatically, with reminders, escalation and a full history.

  2. The same data is entered in several systems

Capture data once and synchronise it between ERP, finance, HR and operational systems.

  3. Reports take days and nobody trusts the numbers

Report directly from integrated, current data, with dashboards for each role.

  4. Rules live in people’s heads

Encode business rules and policies in workflows, so they are applied consistently and can be audited.

  5. Legacy systems cannot be replaced overnight

Integrate with existing systems first, then modernise step by step without stopping operations.

How automation works

From business input to insight, automatically.

Each automated workflow follows the same pattern: an input arrives, rules decide what happens, connected systems are updated, and the result is visible in reporting.

  1. Business inputs

Requests, forms, documents, transactions and events from connected systems.

    • Forms
    • Events
  2. Rules and workflows

Validation, routing, approvals and policies, configured to your requirements.

    • Rules
    • Approvals
  3. Integrated systems

ERP, finance, HR, inventory and other systems updated through APIs.

    • ERP
    • Finance
    • HR
  4. Automated actions

Records created, documents generated, notifications sent and tasks assigned.

    • Notify
    • Generate
  5. Reporting and insights

Dashboards and reports built on current, consistent data.

    • Dashboards
    • Audit

Insights refine the rules and workflows

A reference pattern. Every automation we build is designed around the organisation’s own processes, systems and controls.

What we deliver

Integrated systems and automation, scoped to your operations.

We design each solution from your requirements. These are the areas we typically work in.

  1. ERP development and customisation

ERP modules built or tailored around your processes, data and reporting needs.

  2. Business process automation

Repetitive, rule-based steps automated end to end, with exceptions routed to people.

  3. Workflow management

Configurable workflows with states, owners, deadlines and a complete history.

  4. Inventory and operations systems

Stock, purchasing, production and operational tracking in connected systems.

  5. Finance and accounting integrations

Invoices, payments and journals synchronised with your accounting system.

  6. HR and payroll process integration

Employee records, attendance, leave and payroll data connected across systems.

  7. Approval workflows

Multi-level approvals with delegation, thresholds, reminders and escalation.

  8. Reporting and dashboards

Role-specific dashboards and scheduled reports from integrated data.

  9. Legacy system integration

Existing systems connected through APIs, files or database integration while they remain in use.

  10. Data synchronisation

Reliable, monitored synchronisation between systems, with error handling.

  11. Role-based access and operational controls

Permissions, segregation of duties and audit trails built into every workflow.

Designed for you

Automation is designed around your requirements, not a template.

No two organisations run approvals, inventory or finance in quite the same way. We start by mapping how work actually moves today, including the exceptions, before deciding what to automate.

Some steps should stay with people. We automate the repetitive, rule-based parts, keep humans in control of decisions that need judgement, and make every automated action visible and auditable.

What we look at in discovery

  • Current process steps, owners and hand-offs
  • Rules, thresholds and exceptions
  • Systems involved and who owns each type of data
  • Controls, permissions and audit requirements
  • Reports and decisions the data needs to support

Engagement process

How a project runs, from first call to continuous improvement.

Every engagement follows the same five stages. The depth of each stage scales with the size and risk of the work.

  1. Discover

Understand the business goal, the current process, the users and the systems involved.

  2. Define

Agree scope, priorities, architecture and a delivery plan you can review before work starts.

  3. Develop

Build in short iterations with regular demos, so feedback shapes the product as it grows.

  4. Deliver

Test, deploy and hand over with documentation, training where needed and a clear support path.

  5. Evolve

Monitor, maintain and extend the solution as the business and its requirements change.

FAQs

Questions about enterprise automation.

Do we have to replace our current ERP or systems?

Usually not. Most automation projects start by integrating the systems you already have. Where a system is holding the business back, we can plan a phased replacement that keeps operations running.

Which processes are good candidates for automation?

Processes that are frequent, rule-based and currently rely on re-keying, e-mail or spreadsheets: approvals, invoice handling, onboarding, stock updates and recurring reports are common examples. Discovery identifies where automation will make the biggest difference.

Can you customise or extend an ERP system?

Yes. We build custom ERP modules and extend existing systems through their APIs or extension points, depending on what the system supports.

How do you keep control over automated actions?

Every workflow has defined owners, permissions and an audit trail. Decisions that need judgement stay with people, and exceptions are routed to them with the context they need.

Can automation connect to HR and payroll?

Yes. Employee, attendance and leave data can be connected across HR, payroll and finance systems. Sharpflux also offers its own Payroll and Leave Management product.
