Overview

A smart digital platform for bus booking, operators and travel management.

The Bus Booking Application is a customisable platform for businesses that want to establish or expand online bus reservations. It connects passengers, bus operators and administrators through separate applications on one backend.

A demo takes you through the booking journey and the operator tools. Online payment, delivery of notifications and production set-up are scoped and configured for each platform.

Who it connects

  • Passengers searching for and reserving trips
  • Operators managing buses, routes, trips and fares
  • Administrators reviewing operators and buses

Passenger experience

A booking journey built for the web.

A customer web application covers the journey from finding a trip to viewing the booking afterwards.

Account and passenger details

  • Booking with a name and mobile number
  • Name, age and gender for each passenger
  • Passenger profile page

After booking

  • Booking history
  • Booking details

Trip, boarding and dropping points, passengers, seats and fares.

Seat selection and reservation

Choose a seat, and hold it while you book.

Seats come from the layout the operator defined for the bus. The database decides who gets a seat, so two bookings should not end up holding the same one.

Seat map

  • Seat layout by deck, with seater and sleeper seats
  • Available, held and booked seat indicators
  • Seat selection and fare by seat type
  • A seat allocated to each passenger

Reservation

  • Temporary seat hold during booking

Unpaid holds expire and the seats are released.

  • Protection against duplicate seat bookings

Reservation workflow

  2. Select seats

    From the trip’s seat map.

  • Booking status tracking

    Awaiting payment, confirmed or cancelled.

  • Booking cancellation

Releases the seats. No refund is calculated or paid.

Tickets and confirmation

Bus operator management

From operator application to a bus ready for sale.

Operators apply, submit their details and documents, and set up their fleet from their own console. An administrator reviews each operator and bus.

  • Document upload and application status
  • Operator approval and rejection by an administrator

Technical architecture

Modular services behind one API gateway.

Customer and administration experiences are separate applications. Backend responsibilities are split into services, with a direction towards event-driven integration that gives the platform a foundation to scale from.

Questions

Bus booking software FAQs

What does it take to launch our own platform?

Start with a demo of the booking journey and operator tools. A launch also needs a real payment gateway, notifications, security hardening and production infrastructure, which we scope and agree for your platform.

Can passengers pay online?

Online payment needs a payment gateway, integrated and configured for your platform with the provider you choose. The demo uses a simulated payment step, and no real payment is taken.

Does it offer live bus tracking?

Not at present. GPS device integration and a live map would be scoped for your platform if you need them.

Is there a mobile app?

The customer experience is a web application built with Ionic React. A dedicated mobile application would be scoped separately.

Can it be customised for our business?

Yes. We can scope operator workflows, fares, routes, branding and integrations around how your business runs, as bus booking application development for your platform.

How is it different from Logo Mobility and DriverApp?

The Bus Booking Application sells seats on scheduled bus trips. Logo Mobility covers taxi and related applications. DriverApp supplies professional drivers who drive a customer’s own vehicle.
