Playground · Client platform

From vendor to shelf, on one platform.

A platform built for a non-profit’s centres: vendors supply products, purchase requests track them to the store and the centre, and learners spend the coins they earn in an internal shop.

Overview

What it is

Playground runs the day-to-day operations of a group of centres, and the learning that happens in them. This page covers its vendor and product side: the supply chain that brings products in, and the coin-based shop that hands them out.

It is a closed platform for the organisation’s own staff and learners, not a public marketplace.

The business problem

An organisation running several centres has to buy from many local vendors, know what is in the store and get the right items to the right place. When requests, stock and deliveries are tracked separately, nobody can say what was ordered, what arrived or what is about to run out.

Sharpflux’s role

Sharpflux engineers the platform for its owner.

  • React web application
  • Backend API and data model
  • Role-based access for staff and learners
  • Automated and end-to-end tests

Solution and approach

How products move through Playground.

Each product is followed from the vendor who supplies it to the learner who receives it, with stock and purchase records kept along the way.

  1. Vendors

Supplier records with categories and terms.

    • Lead time
    • Minimum order
  2. Purchase requests

    Requested, ordered and followed through.

    • Pending
    • Ordered
  3. Store and inventory

Delivered to the store, then to the centre.

    • Stock levels
  4. Coin shop

Learners order with coins; coaches deliver.

    • Orders
    • Receipts
